Volleyball Updates:
To all the teams that have made Halftime volleyball such a great success over the years, especially those of you who participated in 2024, my team and I would like to give a heartfelt thank you!
We’re excited and looking forward to our 2025 season which will be our 32nd season of volleyball here at Halftime. Last season we asked for feedback from the teams and we tried to take all comments/concerns into consideration to make the upcoming seasons more enjoyable for everyone. With 2025 quickly approaching, there will be some changes in the upcoming season with league rules, tournament format, roster information and captain meetings.
Registration information:
Early discounted registration will begin Monday, December 16,2024. The largest discount will be offered for the first three weeks. Then starting January 12th-31st, 2025 the discount will be cut in half. On February 1, 2025, if there are any openings remaining, registration to the public will begin. Make sure if your team would like to participate in the 2025 season at Halftime, you get your registration form and roster turned in by January 31st. Rosters will require a minimum of 6 people and will have a max allowance of 12 players. Teams can change/add/delete at any time up until Monday, June 30, 2025.
Changes for this upcoming season:

- We WILL have speakers mounted in/around the volleyball courts
- NO players under 21 will be allowed to participate under any circumstances due to our new insurance carrier
- With the new insurance carrier, all players will be required to sign a waiver in order to play
- In order to try to eliminate the most common complaint we received in the 2024 volleyball season, which was that we had “highly skilled/competitive” teams playing in a recreational bar volleyball league. We spent a lot of time thinking, researching and talking with similar venues locally and in other states on some of the actions that they have taken to solve the same problem. We have made it very clear on our sign-up sheets and in our advertising moving forward that we are a recreational bar league. You cannot look at the sign up sheet without seeing it
- All team captains will be required to sign the rules page at the time of registration
- There will be no playoffs at the end of the season and we will eliminate cash payouts. This should eliminate the desire for those “highly competitive” teams that just sign up at Halftime to win the league and take the money
- Instead of cash payouts for each night the team that comes in first place will receive free sign up in the 2025 season, second place will receive half off sign up for the 2025 season, third place will receive 25% off for the 2025 season.
- There will no longer be end of season playoffs, we will be hosting a tournament in 2025 on August 23/24. You have to be a participating team in the 2025 season in order to sign up. There will be a $10/team entry fee which will include 12 drink tickets and a coupon for a 16 inch pizza with up to 2 ingredients. The drink tickets will be good for the following: Tito‘s, Captain Morgan, Jameson, any rail liquor, Miller Lite, Coors light bottles, and any draft beer. The drink tickets and pizza coupon will only be good on the day(s) of the tournament
- Payouts for the tournament: Halftime will match the $10 sign-up fee so if 25 teams sign up, the pot will be $500. The first place team will receive 55% of the pot, the second place team will receive 30% of the pot and the third place team will receive the remaining 15%
